Touchpoint Autism
According to CDC statistics, one in every 100 children born in the United States will be diagnosed with an Austism Spectrum Disorder. In Missouri, that statistic skyrockets to 1 in 83 children. That's one child every 13 minutes. Boys are four times more likely to be diagnosed with autism than girls. Autism is more prevelant than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and aids combined. While there is no cure for Autism, there are proven therapies and treatments which can help individuals with Autism lead healthy, happy lives. That is our focus at TouchPoint-to make a real difference in the quality of life for children and adults with autism and their families wherever they may live. We offer comprhensive, evidence-based treatment, training and services for individuals across the entire autism spectrum throughout all stages of their lives. At the Bandits game on Saturday February 11, 2012 there will be an informational table set up near the merchandise booth. Also, a clinician will be available to provide valuable insights for those who believe that they may need to have a child taken in for an evaluation. Please keep in mind that the clinician would not be able to give a diagnosis, but is there to help provide valuable information regarding Austism. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GAME HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR APRIL 1, 2012. It's time to get ready for some action packed hockey as the St. Louis Blues Alumni, local Firemen, Policemen and the St. Louis Bandits are getting ready for the annual Guns 'n' Hoses hockey event. Guns 'n' Hoses will be held on Sunday April 1, 2012 at the Hardee's Iceplex in Chesterfield Valley. Local Police and Firemen will team up with the St. Louis Blues Alumni for a 1:00 pm game followed by a game between the St. Louis Bandits and the Chicago Hitmen at 2:15 pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit the St. Louis Responder Rescue organization. Firefighters from the St. Louis area established Responder Rescue in 2009. They have seen first hand, during their careers, individuals who have been left financially and emotionally devistated after an unforseen injury or illness. Responder Rescue was created to try and help those individuals after all other resources have been exhausted. General admission tickets $20 and VIP tickets $50 are available by calling 636-536-4882. Kids 12 and under are free. VIP tickets include unlimited access to the VIP area where you can watch the game and enjoy food and drinks with the St. Louis Blues Alumni. There are numerous ways to get involved in the Guns 'n' Hoses event. Whether it's through a donation, ticket purchase or special sponsorship packages, your support is really needed. To make a donation or become a sponsor please call Karen at 636-536-4882 or email krieth@swbell.net . Fundraiser for the Meningitis Foundation
